About Us
Growing up surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Seattle offered a great launching pad for what would become my life’s passion. My homemade childhood darkroom offered a taste of chemistry which I pursued to a PhD from Yale. After several years in academia I settled into an exciting and fulfilling career in the Research Laboratories of Eastman Kodak. For over 22 years I teamed with fellow scientists to create technologies and products spanning photography, biological testing and electronic manufacturing. With the emergence of digital imaging I was asked to train under Rochester Institute of Technology Professors where I learned, up close,of the extraordinary future that lay ahead for digital photography.
Coincident with this training, an opportunity for early retirement was announced. I stayed with Kodak long enough to finish the RIT training and then returned, along with my wife Cindy, to the Pacific Northwest. Together, we became co-owners and operators of a Photo and Digital Lab in Seattle, providing services and products to large corporations, leading retailers, professional photographers and many others. This work led to my employment as Liaison to the Publishing Industry/Microsoft/Imaging & Graphics Software Application Developers for two computer manufacturers, DeskStation Technology and DEC. But photography is my real passion and it is with great joy that we share some of these special moments with you.
Cindy and I produce our work from our home studio in Issaquah, WA. Cindy’s formal education was at the Art Institute of Portland. Add to that her broad experience with Builders, Interior Design clients, Service Bureau customers, and now, with the purchasers of our cards, prints and canvases. Cindy brings her excellent, studied eye and gifted understanding of space, color and design to our business and to you, our customers. She coordinates everything beyond the computer. Cindy’s other interests include children, her horse, her garden, hiking and an all-around love of the natural world.
We are always available to chat about your particular needs, whether by e-mail or phone. Browse the categories; find something special for yourself or another. If you have any questions, thoughts or input, we would love to hear from you.
It is our hope that by viewing our work, you will be inspired to step out and take in the majesty of our wonderful created world!

Where It All Began
I’m not sure which came first, my love of the mountains or the camera, but both date back to my pre-teens. My family chose to play in the outdoors and my early years were spent with them on expeditions to the mountains and sea. As I grew, I wanted more than just the family vacations. I tagged along with friends, hiked and biked with our Scout Troop and, wanting more, I enlisted a brother or friend to deliver me, along with a friend or two, to a trailhead in the wilds of Washington’s Cascade Mountains. We were trusted to act sensibly and be there when our ride returned for pick-up. We explored nooks and crannies, cast flies into mountain lakes and streams, maneuvered our way up and down waterfalls, photographed the flora and fauna, and, overall, created the best memories a young man could want.
Since those early years my travel and exploration grew and we have had the joy of spending thousands of hours capturing beautiful moments from locations around the globe. I have found great joy in carrying cameras, even very large ones, to remote locations that include the tops of many mountains. For me, the view through the lens provides a special intimacy with nature’s grandeur. The thrill never wanes. There is no end to the created world’s provision of delight, surprise, glory, awe, calm, excitement, challenge and endless artistic expression. Soli Deo Gloria!
